Profile - Adrian V. Muscat Inglott

Adrian Muscat Inglott was born in Cospicua, Malta in 1947. He was educated at St. Joseph School, St. Aloysius College and De La Salle College.

1966-1967:- obtained the Queen's Commission after successfully completing Officer Cadet Training at Mons Officer Cadet School, Aldershot, Hampshire, U.K.;

1967-1969:- posted to Mulheim in Germany with the First Regiment Royal Malta Artillery where he held the rank of Second Lieutenant;


1970:- joined British European Airways at Heathrow Airport. Worked as a Cargo Clerical Assistant; Passenger Service Assistant, Passenger Services Co-ordinator; Customer Service Supervisor; and Customer Service Duty Manager;


1989:- was presented an Award for Excellence by Sir Colin Marshall (now Lord) Chairman and Chief Executive British Airways certifying that "Mr. Muscat Inglott has been recognised for making a significant contribution to British Airways";


1989:- returned home to Malta and held various positions in the local travel industry;


1992:- took over the Customer Service Column in the Sunday Times;


1992:- joined the Malta Ornithological Society (Now, Bird Life International, Malta) as an Education Officer. Among other things he wrote a series of environment oriented articles for them which generated a record number of new applications for membership;


1993:- appointed Personal Assistant to the Hon. Minister for Youth and the Arts Dr. Michael Frendo;


1994:- head hunted by the first Director of the Department of Consumer Affairs, Mr. Joseph Mallia to set up the Consumer Education Section in the department where, among other initiatives, he originated and edited the Department's official quarterly newsletter "Fair Deal" and started giving Consumer Education talks to schools in Malta and Gozo;


1995:- the Department's Consumer Education Section took part in the United States of America's National Association of Consumer Agency Administrators (N.A.C.A.A.) international "Consumer Education" competition and won. On behalf of the department Mr. Muscat Inglott was presented an Award for Excellence in Consumer Education by Ms. Elizabeth Owen, Director Division of Consumer Affairs Tennessee, during N.A.C.A.A.'s twentieth Annual Conference held in San Antonio Texas;


1996:- awarded the prestigious European Union Visitors Programme study grant by the European Union Delegation in Malta;


1999:- member of Malta's delegation in Brussels for Malta's Screening process re Chapter 23 'Consumer and Health Protection'.


Current:- Consumer Affairs Adviser at the Ministry for Competitiveness and Communications.
